An unexpected consequence due to the measured hype around the legal gambling market has been an increase in the number of people in the Register of persons restricted from gambling.

There are currently 7,874 users on this Register and the number has almost doubled since the beginning of 2024. This indicates that the number of problem gamblers in the country is rapidly increasing. The matter is discussed in a column by UGC head Anton Kuchukhidze for Ukrainian News.
