The gambling market in Kazakhstan has become the leader in terms of the volume of services provided to the population

According to data for January-September 2024, the total market size, including the non-observed sector of the economy, reached 353.6 billion tenge. This is 24% more than in the same period in 2023.

For comparison, in 2023 this figure was 186.8 billion tenge, which was then equal to almost two-thirds of the total volume of services in the sector.

Despite the success, the growth of the gambling industry raises concerns among experts. The dominance of foreign companies limits the development of national business and leads to capital outflow abroad. In addition, the growing popularity of gambling is associated with the risk of increasing gambling addiction among the population, which may negatively affect the well-being of citizens.
