The Irish Parliament has passed a bill to regulate gambling. Experts expect the document to come into force within the year.
According to it, the country should create a body that will regulate the industry. Seven people will work in the regulator. In parallel, the Program Council of the Ministry of Justice will contribute to the coordinated implementation of changes.

Also, the new document provides for the emergence of a mechanism of self-isolation from gambling and the creation of a fund that will deal with the social impact of gambling. The latter will work thanks to a special levy on gambling companies. Areas of work – support for scientific research, educational and social campaigns, programs to prevent problem gambling and help people with addiction.

According to the authors’ idea, the bill should minimize the risks from the gambling hobby: it prohibits the use of credit cards for gambling contributions and limits the opportunities for providing bonuses and advertising.
