California resident Bradley Ballock once visited a casino and left $2,000 richer after winning a jackpot on mechanical slot machines.
The next day, he bought two lottery tickets at a supermarket. According to Bradley, he only noticed them because they were on sale. That same evening, he found out that he had won a $10 million jackpot. In an interview, Bradley said that he checked the ticket number and knew about his win almost immediately, but still went home and scratched off the protective layer to be sure.

He decided to take a lump sum payment, so after taxes and other fees, his winnings amounted to $5.8 million. Bradley decided to celebrate the news with a friend.
