The UAE’s gaming regulator, GCGRA, has issued the first license for organizing national lottery games. From now on, Game LLC will be able to offer a variety of lottery games tailored to consumers’ interests and financial preferences.
According to GCGRA CEO Jim Murren, the launch of the lottery represents “a key event that not only establishes a world-class legal framework for lotteries but also demonstrates the commitment to developing a safe and enriched gambling environment in the UAE,” as reported by iGB. So far, Game LLC has not commented on the news or shared plans for expanding this sector. The company is relatively private; it is based in Abu Dhabi and specializes in developing mobile games, virtual reality technologies, and online gambling management.

The lottery launch is just the first step in the industry’s growth. The regulator plans to license integrated resorts and establish a regulated online gambling market. Wynn Resorts is currently constructing a facility in Ras Al Khaimah, although it remains unclear when the company will receive its license.
