The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has discovered and shut down an underground casino located in the “Olympic” shopping center in Kyiv. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the press service of the SBU.

According to the reports, the criminals set up the illegal establishment in the Olympic shopping center, which featured more than 100 gaming machines for regular patrons and an exclusive gaming hall for “elite clients.” “For ordinary players, there were 113 gaming machines available, while elite clients could access a disguised VIP room, adhering to strict secrecy protocols. Law enforcement officers spent over an hour inside the premises, which housed 17 gambling tables and six roulette wheels,” the SBU shared.

It was also noted that during the investigation, law enforcement seized information storage devices and the so-called “black ledger,” which confirmed the illegal activities. “According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the illegal casino was operating with the assistance of law enforcement officers,” the agency added. Currently, a criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 203-2 (engaging in gambling business) and Part 2 of Article 364, specifically abuse of power or office position leading to serious consequences. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
